Hemingways Resort Hotel Accommodation
One of the small luxury Hotels of the World, this 78 room resort is the premiere resort in Watamu. Stunning sea views, stylishly furnished. All Hemingways rooms and suites are extremely comfortable, have ocean views, are within yards of the beach and benefit from 24 hour room service. All have bathrooms with showers en-suite. There is air-conditioning and fans throughout, & rooms also have mosquito nets, personal safes and room fridges. You cannot fail to be impressed by the service, from well trained, very friendly, and extremely attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble, they just want to please, and the guests in the main respond by saying please and thank you a courtesy not always observed nowadays in hotels!

Standard Rooms - There are double and twin beds to choose from in the more spacious rooms of the new Hemingways wing. These rooms are all on the first and second floors

Superior Rooms - These very spacious rooms are on the ground floor of the new wing, offering the easiest of access to the hotel gardens and beach

Junior Suites - Junior Suites are available on all three floors. They have super king-sized beds, large baths, as well as showers and a lounge area.

Executive suites - rooms have been individually furnished to the highest standard using hand made pieces designed by Armando Tanzini and Charles Tyle, with original paintings by Lisa Dickinson. In a slight departure from the norm at Hemingways, the flooring of the living and bedroom area is to be finished in a dark hardwood, rather than a ceramic tile, thus giving the rooms even more individuality. Both suites will have satellite television.

As much as anything food is a very important part of a Kenya family vacation. The menus on Hemingways Beach Resort website doesn’t lie!! The food is a total highlight, the food being quite delicious, and most importantly varied, when you stay for two weeks. There were occasional extensive sumptious buffets, but mostly there is a menu and waiter service in the evenings. You could choose from a set menu of five courses, with at least three choices for each course.

The restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean and seats 200 people, with additional seating for 100 on the outside terrace. Their excellent chef provides for all tastes. The candle lit dinner menu offers a full four course table d'hote menu and there is a vegetarian option available at all meals. The food is fantastic, both buffet and set-menu, with loads of fresh fish that you see being hauled up the beach each day - guaranteed freshness! Afternoon tea - tiny sandwiches, cakes and pancakes, is a completely unnecessary but wonderful treat!The bar offers comfortable seating as well as bar stools for a very sociable evening. Formal clothing is required for dinner with tailored shirts and trousers required for men.
